Education in the light of our Christ.
St. Dominic's College is a Catholic centred school built on the traditions of Christian Brothers and the Dominican Sisters, which admits pupils of all denominations. Our Religious Education syllabus is life-related and teaches morals, tolerance and life skills. The emphasis is on caring, understanding and tolerance within a Christian context and based on the Gospel values of justice, love, truth and respect for the dignity of each person.
Prayer forms an integral part of school life and is incorporated into the daily routine. Each day begins with prayer. At 12 noon the Angelus Bell reminds us all to pray and we down tools for a few minutes to spend some time with God. The school Chapel is always open to anyone who would like to pray there.
Each term, Mass is celebrated throughout the College. Feast days are honoured and this is followed by an Inter-house sporting activity. Every significant event, for example the Induction of school prefects or Valedictory, is done in the form of a Mass or other forms of prayer.
