ABOUT US
Founded in 1952 by the Dominican Sisters and Christian Brothers, St Dominic’s College is an established, traditional church school.
St Dominic’s College is entrusted with providing a well-balanced educational experience for your children. In order to do this, we need to partner with parents if the educational journey is to be a successful one. We encourage parents to spend time and energy with us as we strive to make education a rewarding and valuable process.
In the interest of your child developing to his or her full potential, we expect your support in ensuring that he or she has a healthy attitude, a sound work ethic and that he or she displays the appropriate behaviour that contributes to developing a favourable learning environment. We expect that all children participate fully in the compulsory sports programme and more importantly, that they commit until the September of their matric year. Furthermore, we encourage children to participate in the cultural sphere of school life with a view to developing in their minds a deep love for, and appreciation of the arts. Lastly, we request that you allow us to care for and nurture your child by helping them understand that the staff of St Dominic’s College are effectively an extension of your authority whilst they are in our care.
